Neutrino Astronomy with IceCube and Hyper-K

Prof. Seon-Hee Seo
Seoul National University, Korea

Neutrino is a good messenger for astronomical phenomena because it is neutral and weakly interacting. IceCube is the world largest neutrino telescope at the South Pole and has observed astrophysical neutrinos for the first time in 2012. In this talk I introduce IceCube and some recent astrophysical results. Hyper-Kamiokande (Hyper-K) is a successor of the Nobel prize winning Super-Kamiokande neutrino observatory in Japan. I will introduce Hyper-K and a possibility to host one of the two identical Hyper-K detectors in Korea.
